When it comes to the soul of a company, it’s undoubtedly the founder. At Chonghan, that person is our leader, Mr. Luo—a man who brings warmth and energy to everyone around him with his boundless passion.
I haven’t been with the company for long, but my first impression of Mr. Luo was quite different from what I expected of a typical Guangdong boss. Despite speaking in a humorous mix of Cantonese-accented Mandarin, his bold and forthright personality felt more akin to someone from northern China. He’s approachable, enthusiastic, and full of energy—someone you can’t help but like.
One of Mr. Luo’s unique traditions is organizing physical activities for us every Thursday afternoon. Whether it’s badminton, jump rope, swimming, or a 5K run, he emphasizes that a healthy body is essential for giving your best at work. He believes that every time you push yourself to the limit during a workout, it’s also an opportunity to have an honest dialogue with yourself.
At work, Mr. Luo is not just a leader but also a mentor. Whenever a project encounters obstacles, he helps us structure our thoughts, encourages creative thinking, and teaches us valuable lessons about communication and attitude. One phrase he often repeats is: “I don’t care how long you stay at Chonghan, but I hope that during your time here, you grow and improve. When you leave, you should never feel like you’ve wasted your time.”
He truly walks the talk. Each month, he selects a book to help us grow, ensures we have our weekly exercise days, and constantly reminds us that both our bodies and minds should always be in motion.
Mr. Luo himself is a person of immense willpower. He once completed a 100-kilometer hiking challenge with his daughter, despite having no prior training. Throughout the journey, he didn’t coddle his daughter, even when other parents were doting on their children. He believes independence is a skill to be learned. Through his actions, he subtly influences not just his family but also his employees.
Mr. Luo is like a lighthouse, spreading warmth and guidance to everyone he meets. He greets every person in the office park with genuine enthusiasm, always ready to lend a hand without hesitation. Despite years of navigating the competitive business world, he remains as pure-hearted as a child.
He’s a boss and a teacher, a friend and a big brother. There are so many more fun and inspiring stories about Mr. Luo, and I look forward to sharing them with you in the future.
